Boulder isn’t cheap. But, it sure is a great place to live. Here are a few reasons why so many people are moving the Boulder Area:
#1. A Healthy Lifestyle. There are so many active things to do in the area - whether it’s hiking, biking, running, skiing, and many more.
#2. A Strong Economy. Boulder has a large and diverse economy. From Natural Foods to High Technology, the business landscape is large and diverse. Because it’s a great place to live, many people graduate from CU and start small businesses in the area. According to a study by the Kauffman Foundation, Boulder had six times as many technology start-ups than the national average.
#3. Social activities don’t revolve around bars and restaurants. With so much to do, many people find it’s easy to meet people with similar outdoor interests.
#4. Dog-friendly. Enough said.
#5. Balance. Finding a healthy work-life balance is easy and respected here. You won’t feel guilty leaving the office when everyone else is “burning the midnight oil.”
#6. People are healthier and more athletic in Boulder. This makes it easy for you to pick up a healthy, active lifestyle.
#7. There are breweries as far as the eye can see.
#8. Bikes lanes everywhere. It’s easy to ride your bike to work.
#9. Highly educated. Boulder has more people with PhDs per capita than any other American City. I’m sure the stats are similar for people with other Graduate Degrees.
#10. An excellent education system. Colorado University Boulder is a top rated University. In addition, the local school system is one of the best in the country.
#11. There’s always something happening. Local & Cultural Events abound.
#12. The people are Awesome. And happy.
#13. The Weather is Incredible. Boulder has an average of 300 days of Sun every year. (After living in cloudy, rainy Florida for 20 years, Boulder is amazingly sunny!)
#14. Family friendly. 19 percent of the residents have children under the age of 18 living with them.
#15. Exciting. People who like thrills and excitement are drawn to Boulder.
#16. The Colorado Chautauqua has plenty of unique cultural offerings and events. In addition, it’s a popular place for amazing hikes in the Flatirons.
#17. Legal Weed. I can’t forget to mention that.
#18. Plenty of great museums, such as the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, CU Museum of Natural History, and many more.
#19. It’s Beautiful. With great views of the Flatirons and other Mountains, Boulder has lots of great views. In addition, the city is surrounded by Open Spaces and parks galore! No matter where you live, there’s always a place nearby to run or ride your bike.
